What is Troop 1175?

Simsbury Troop 1175 is a Scouting America troop (formerly Boy Scouts of America) dedicated to helping youth develop self-confidence, leadership, outdoor skills, and a sense of community—fun with a purpose! We believe in unconditional support with 100% inclusion and no judgement.

Who can join Troop 1175?

Girls ages 11–17 (or those who have completed fifth grade) who are interested in scouting and outdoor adventure.

What kinds of activities does Troop 1175 participate in?

Camping, hiking, community service, leadership development, and other outdoor adventures, including high-adventure trips and merit badge programs. We provide training and a safe environment for developing and practicing additional skills such as planning, organizing, and communicating, all while having fun and developing lasting friendships.

How often do you go camping?

At least one overnight per month, year-round (including winter), plus an extended summer camp.

Do I need a uniform to join?

Yes, though you can join first and buy later. Class A for meetings/formal events; Class B (troop tee) for casual. We’ll help you find the right items and patches.
